Occupational Therapy Programs

This specialized form of occupational therapy targets the muscles located at the base of your pelvis, which support your bladder, bowel, and sexual function. Given the pivotal role these muscles play in pregnancy, bowel/bladder control, and confidence with participation during daily living tasks the significance of maintaining or restoring their function cannot be overstated. Pelvic floor therapy provides a beacon of hope for those suffering in silence, offering a path to regain control and improve quality of life.
The Integrated Diabetes Empowerment Program is a groundbreaking initiative by our Occupational Therapy department designed to revolutionize diabetes management. Our program is dedicated to empowering patients with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to effectively manage their diabetes and improve their overall quality of life. We develop tailored exercise plans based on each patient’s unique needs, abilities, and preferences. These plans aim to optimize blood sugar control, enhance physical fitness, and support overall well-being. We also provide detailed educational sessions on the importance of exercise in managing diabetes, proper glucose monitoring techniques, and the impact of dietary choices. Our goal is to empower patients with the knowledge they need to take charge of their health. We offer continuous support through regular follow-up sessions to monitor progress, adjust exercise plans, and reinforce key educational points. Our team is dedicated to providing consistent guidance and encouragement.
The F.E.C.T program is tailored to help patients manage their cardiac health through functional endurance training and make improvements to their overall wellbeing. To evaluate the patient's cardiac tolerance, our occupational therapists will make use of their heart rate, O2 levels, and blood pressure. Based on that information, they will create a personalized plan of care in order to raise the patient's endurance level.
The Senior Functional Assessment Clinic (S.F.A.C.) is dedicated to aiding senior citizens in our community who don't have access to occupational therapy. We will arrange and provide services to help them retain a higher level of autonomy and better their daily activities. Our focus is on making sure seniors remain safe and independent in their homes, as well as evaluating and making suggestions for improving mobility. This includes providing tips for home safety, enhancing functional endurance, and minimizing the chances of falls.
The Functional Pain Assessment Clinic (F.P.A.C) has been created to examine the components of pain through assessment. This process will enable the recognition and identification of both the physical and functional components of pain. Additionally, F.P.A.C will be able to recognize and suggest suitable treatments for pain based on the type and its effect on the body. This assessment will also provide the referring provider with a functional baseline for the pain. Furthermore, it will also be beneficial for patients as they will gain an understanding of their pain, the cause of it, and how to mitigate it so that they can regain their normal levels of functionality.

The goal of the Upper Extremity Clinic is to ensure the ongoing care of usual upper extremity issues. This portal will assist in connecting our providers to the hand and elbow experts via occupational therapy assessment. If required, we will make personalized hand splints. Additionally, we help patients with Functional Range of Motion & Strengthening post hand surgery.
